Members of the pharmacy community gathered on September 24th, 2022, at Gallery Gora in Montreal for the second annual Pharmacists Without Borders Canada Gala! The venue was a beautiful art gallery for guests to browse through, accompanied by live music- a band violinist and pianist, hors d'oeuvres, drinks such as locally imported beer, as well as desserts made by homemade local bakers and chefs. There was also a raffle with prizes. There were 90 attendees, and the vast majority of attendees were pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students and members of other health care professionals.
The night began with a touching speech from Julie Morin, the Co-President of PSF, about her experience with PSF through volunteering and participating in humanitarian missions. This was followed by words by two of the event’s gold sponsors. VP Quebec for PSF, Anne-Sophie Pépin, spoke about the various missions of PSF Canada and their current and future objectives. Mary Ghattas, the VP of fundraising, was the Emcee throughout the evening.
Through the amount collected from generous sponsors and attending guests, these funds will allow PSF Canada to continue to strive for its mission to ensure safe and accessible medications worldwide.
