Summary of this Specific Mission:

  • Collaborate with local partners at Soroti University in Uganda, Africa to determine and prioritize needs and activities for Mission Project to enhance pharmaceutical services and care.

  • Summary of the objectives of this Mission Project

  • Collaborate with partners at Soroti University to enhance pharmaceutical services and care in a variety of settings that include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with local pharmacies to determine needs and improve drug disbursement and clinical education;

  • Population education to enhance overall healthcare;

  • Assist in course development as determined with local partners;

  • Establish health resources for local public health facilities;

  • Work to support teaching hospital with medication distribution process and clinical components as needed;

  • Any other goals and projects established with local partners.

Expectations and Deliverables:

  • Complete and document a full evaluation using PSF Canada’s assessment tool.

  • Create a development plan (2-5 years) in conjunction with local team.

  • Be the lead for the development plan, complete and/or plan multiple future missions to achieve goals set in the development plan.

  • Recruit and supervise volunteers for this Mission Project (with Mission Coordinator / Mission Director).

  • Maintain good liaison and relationship with local team.

  • Complete Mission Project’s section in the annual activities report.

  • Provide pictures / videos of the mission for communication / marketing team.

  • Availability to share your experience for communication / marketing team.

Time Commitment:

  • Project completion timeline: long term (2-5 years).

  • Dates of the trip: to be determined by Mission Lead with local team.

  • Long term relationship commitment with PSF Canada and local team.

  • Time required prior to and after the trip to complete the deliverables.

  • Time for meetings with Mission Coordinator/ Mission Director / Mission Team (regular basis, ex.: monthly).

  • Attendance to annual PSF Canada General Assembly meeting (virtual).

Administrative and Financial Requirements for this Specific Mission:

  • Cost of travel, food and travel requirements (visa, vaccination, etc.) is covered by PSF Canada (reimbursement post-travel). Refer to Evaluation Mission Travel Policy.

  • Comply with PSF Canada’s policies

  • Complete the required application forms. For this on-site mission: Evaluation Mission Travel Policy. For future missions, when applicable: Small equipment - Material financial support Policy, Mission Travel Supplement Policy, Student Travel Policy.

  • Accept and sign PSF Canada’s agreement for on-site missions.

Qualifications

  • Be a PSF Canada member.

  • Be a Pharmacist.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Have an interest in Global Health. Experience in Global Health considered an asset.

  • Have an interest in humanitarian sustainable development of pharmaceutical services and care.

  • Reside in Canada.

Selection Criteria

  • Global Health or Public Health degree or experience.

  • International mission experience.

  • Variety of work experience within the profession of pharmacy.

  • Proven Leadership.

  • Liaise with Marketing and Mission Project Directors and teams as required

2. Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Participation in all Board, Steering,  Executive and Finance Audit meetings (approx. 3 meeting/month)

  • Present financial statements at Board meetings.

  • Ensure all Liability Insurance is current and the best (price and coverage) for the organization

  • Ensure all financial commitments of PSF are reviewed and signed off

  • Oversee all bank accounts and investments

  • Approval of all bill payments

  • Meet with Office Admin on a regular schedule

  • Approve end of year financial statements and work with Auditor to ensure complete for AGA

  • Prepare an annual budget proposal in November and present at the Board meeting for tentative approval

  • Present final budget at annual meeting for approval

  • Ensure signatory transitions are up to date

  • Book and manage online meeting invitations, agendas & videoconference links for AGM, Board, Steering, Executive and Quarterly Business meetings

  • Compile minutes and distribute minutes for AGM, Board and Steering meetings

  • Participate in the development of the annual report and annual general meeting prep work

  • Lead the logistics for setting up in-person annual meetings in collaboration with our administrators, if required

Supporter Engagement Coordinator
The Supporter Engagement Coordinator will oversee and provide leadership to the Supporter Engagement  Committee ( Fundraising , Sponsorship Donation and Supporter Event  Leads) and their teams. The coordinator  will report directly to the Marketing Director.

  • Attend  quarterly meetings with the full marketing  team

  • Provide quarterly reports to the Steering Committee on Marketing strategic milestones and timelines

  • Develop strategies, timelines, and milestones and report quarterly on status with a final written report for the Annual General meeting
