Position summary description:

The Supporter Engagement Coordinator will oversee and provide leadership to the Supporter Engagement  Committee ( Fundraising , Sponsorship Donation and Supporter Event  Leads) and their teams. The coordinator  will report directly to the Marketing Director. The role is a 2 year term starting as soon as possible .

Tasks/Responsibilities & Estimated Volunteer Time Commitment:

  • Act as the Chair for the  Supporter Engagement  Committee meetings. Organize meetings and ensure minutes are taken, distributed, posted to the google drive. 

  • Collaborate in the development  and implementation of the marketing  strategy 

  • Meet on a regular basis with the Supporter Engagement  Committee

  • Attend  quarterly meetings with the full marketing  team

  • Ensure strategic timelines for the Supporter Engagement  team are reported and minutes of meetings are documented and filed according to PSF documentation procedures

  • Provide quarterly reports to the Steering Committee on Marketing strategic milestones and timelines

  • Attend and actively participate in the Steering Committee meetings and contribute to strategies related to mission,marketing,and recruitment.

  • Recruit volunteer members for the Marketing  team through PSF recruitment process

  • Develop strategies, timelines, and milestones and report quarterly on status with a final written report for the Annual General meeting

  • Participate in the recruitment of volunteer members for marketing team through PSF recruitment process

  • Commitment to an estimated  3 hrs./week in volunteer hours (this is a new position so the time requirement is an estimate)

Qualifications:

  • Be a PSF Canada member for minimum of 2 years

  • Be a pharmacist or pharmacy technician

  • Possess an interest in humanitarian pharmacy

  • Be motivated and organized

  • Reside in Canada

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven leadership

  • Previous board experience

  • Previous Not-for profit volunteer experience

  • Experience with large and complex organizations

  • Current or prior management level experience

  • Knowledge and experience a variety of work experience within the profession of pharmacy, both in terms of positions held and practice environments

  • Experience in finance, legal, auditing, government affairs, public relations, marketing, communications, and international mission project experience

  • Fluent in French and English for speaking and fluent French for in writing

The roles and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Oversee and provide leadership to the Marketing team (includes Social Media, Website, Webinar, Fundraising, and Partnership Committees)

  • Oversee and collaborate on the development and implementation of a national marketing strategy

  • Direct reports are the Coordinators of Communications and Supporter Engagement

  • Collaborate in the development of policies and procedures for the Marketing Team

  • Report quarterly to the Board on Marketing Strategic milestones and timelines

  • Liaise with Recruitment and Mission Project Directors and teams as required

  • Attend board and steering committee meetings and contribute to strategies related to mission, marketing, and recruitment

Mission Goal

The overarching goal of the Mission Project in Uganda is to enhance pharmaceutical services and healthcare delivery across Soroti Regional Hospital and the four district hospitals in the region. The project seeks to develop sustainable systems, improve resource management, and build local capacity. The Uganda Mission Project will be divided into three separate missions.

Key objectives of this Mission Project (long term 2-5 years) include:

1. Inventory Management: Establish efficient inventory management systems by conducting comprehensive stock assessments, ensuring accurate tracking, and addressing supply chain gaps.

2. Formulary Development Support: Develop and implement hospital formularies tailored to each facility's needs, ensuring the availability of essential medicines and fostering rational drug use.

3. Stock Organization: Optimize stock organization in medical stores to improve accessibility and minimize wastage through proper storage techniques and categorization.

4. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Development and Training: Create and implement SOPs for pharmaceutical practices, including procurement, storage, and dispensing. Provide hands-on training for hospital staff to promote adherence to these procedures.

5. Clinical Protocol Development: Collaborate with local healthcare providers to establish evidence-based clinical protocols that standardize treatment approaches and improve patient outcomes.

6. Continuing Education Support: Deliver ongoing clinical education for healthcare professionals, enhancing their knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical care and evidence-based practices.

7. Pharmacovigilance: Implement pharmacovigilance systems to monitor, report, and mitigate adverse drug reactions and medication errors, ensuring patient safety.

8. Antimicrobial Stewardship: Promote antimicrobial stewardship by educating healthcare providers on the rational use of antibiotics, minimizing resistance, and preserving the efficacy of essential medications
