1. Selection Criteria

Required:

  • PSF Canada member (pharmacist or pharmacy technician) - may register for membership on application before starting the position

  • Proven leadership or management level experience

  • Previous board experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience in global health

  • Sufficient availability to prepare for and attend meetings of the Board, committees, and working groups

  • Commitment to an estimated 6 hrs./week in volunteer hours (estimation)

Asset:

  • Experience with large and complex organizations

  • Variety of work experience within the profession of pharmacy, both in terms of positions held and practice environments

  • Skill Set-including finance, legal, auditing, government affairs, public relations, marketing, communications, and international mission project experience

  • French speaking

2. Roles and responsibilities

  • Participation in all Board, Steering, Executive , Quarterly Business meetings and Governance/ or Finance Audit (approx. 3 meeting/month) 

  • Participate and provide leadership to the PSF organization

  • Participate and collaborate on the development and implementation of the PSF organizational strategy

  • Collaborate in the development of policies and procedures for the PSF organization

  • Participate in the leading, managing, and developing the organization’s employees, volunteers, and organizational culture

  • Participate and collaborate with the PSF Directors in developing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing sound and compliant management practices and governance functions

  • Support the championing the organization and advocating mission impact to internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills to manage meeting schedules, agendas, minutes, and other administrative tasks efficiently

  • Experience working within administrative roles

  • Sufficient availability to prepare for and attend evening/weekend meetings of the Board, committees, and working groups

  • Commitment to an estimated 5 hrs./week in volunteer hours (estimation)

Asset:

  • Current or prior leadership or management level experience

  • Previous Not-for profit/board volunteer experience

  • Experience with large and complex organizations

  • Knowledge and experience within global health 

  • Variety of work experience within the profession of pharmacy, both in terms of positions held and practice environments

2. Roles and responsibilities

  • Participation in all Board, Steering, Executive, Governance and Quarterly Business meetings (approx. 3 meeting/month) 

  • Book and manage online meeting invitations, agendas & videoconference links for AGM, Board, Steering, Executive and Quarterly Business meetings

  • Compile minutes and distribute minutes for AGM, Board and Steering meetings

  • Participate in the development of the annual report and annual general meeting prep work

  • Lead the logistics for setting up in-person annual meetings in collaboration with our administrators, if required

  • Monitor the document control policy and ensure all committees and subcommittees are properly filing their meeting minutes.

  • Maintain google drive access for the onboarding/offboarding of Directors and Coordinators 

  • Maintain the archiving of old documents

Fundraising Team Member

Fundraising Team (5 subcommittee positions available)

  • Actively participate in committee meetings

  • Participate in the organization and hosting of fundraising events

  • Solicit sponsorships and meet with potential sponsors

  • Research potential locations for events

  • Brainstorm ideas for future activities

  • Participate in the marketing and promotion of events

  • Contribute to budget management

  • Participate in ticket sales

  • Evaluate Committee events once they have been completed as part of an ongoing improvement process

  • Commitment to an estimated 5 hrs./month in volunteer hours may increase closer to the event.

  • Use Canva to create graphics for social media and communications projects

  • Social media engagement via development of quizzes, polls, contests etc.

Partnership & Donations Team (2-3 positions available) 

RESPONDENTS MUST BE CANADIAN PHARMACISTS, PHARMACY TECHNICIANS, OR STUDENTS

  • Define “Partnership”  and work with the co-presidents to determine PSF Canada’s partnership’s goal. 

  • Work with other teams to develop visibility strategies for the recruitment of members and supporters.

  • Liaise with the memberships team when it comes to strategies to increase membership within one’s own region, and forming partnerships with key stakeholders within one’s own region

  • Collaborate in the development  and implementation of the  Partnership strategic milestones and timelines

  • Ensure strategic timelines for the Partnership are reported on quarterly and minutes of meetings are documented and filed according to PSF documentation procedures

  • Collaborate  with the Fundraising and Communication Teams on the marketing strategy 

  • Inform the Treasurer/ Executive with any contracts that require a signature or agreement, or any financial comments required in planning any fundraising events and   money raised from these events 

  • Estimated Volunteer Hours/Week; 1-2 hour. Expect monthly and quarterly virtual team meetings.
